Default i need help about ecu!!

hello guys....
i really need help!!
i bought 200HONDAcivic _cx_ 10 days ago..
and my honda goes 210-220 mile with per tank / full gas..
it s absolutly bad..

i asked to exOwner,

and he said

" this car doesnt have _ecu_..
you have to buy a _ecu_ for this car..and it will go 300 miles at least..but now (without _ecu_) it spends more gas.."

and i went a serviceman..and he checked my car..

and he said,

"everything is normal..if your car doesnt have _ecu_ , transmisson doesnt work, check engine light gives signal etc..your car has ecu..your problem is not about _ecu_"

i really wonder..

DOES wrong ecu cause to spend a lot of gas? or without _ecu_?

why my car spend more gas than normal cars??

if i bought a new or used ecu , will my honda be normal??

i cant ask question people who around me, that's why,
my english skills not good ..
and i am really confused..

PLEASE HELP ME
THANKSS

and is it for my car or not? how can i know?

Default RE: i need help about ecu!!

welcome to the forum, when was the last time the car was tuned up... spark plug, oil and oil filter change, fuel filter if available, airfilter etc...
is your fuel cap on good or replaced.
If all in good condition, the ecu is located on the right side passenger kick panel. US model. it may be opposite side location for Euro/Japan/Canadian. Get yourself a service manual for your style car or go to the library, or ebay to get a book or view .Do you step lightly on the gas or a heavy foot.
Don't worry about how your writing english, you're doing great.
