need help pricing my 07 civic please!
 

HI all - i joined hoping to meet some civic enthusiasts for some advice!

i currently have an '07 Civic LX that had its engine replaced by Honda due to a manufacturer recall. The engine itself only has 27k miles on it and an immaculate interior while the rest of the vehicle has 150k... a bit of paint damage on one of the doors and a dent on the driver side rear quarter. i've posted it on Craigslist, auto trader, FB marketplace and cars.com, but no sale as of yet. any advice on how to sell it so that the buyer sees PAST the 150k TO the new engine? if i wasn't getting rid of it due to needing a larger vehicle for my business, i would keep it another 8-10 years prolly. i've listed it at $4,300 - how much lower do i need to go? any advice appreciated. i want to know what is unreasonable.

welcome to the forum. kbb says fair condition trade in value 1229-2130, p/p value 2528-4163. nada rough 1825 average 2550 clean 3175. no one will be able to get away from knowing any vehicle having 150k miles even with a new engine. if your car is clean in and out no dings rips or tears, new tires ready to sell at a car lot condition you can ask 4-5k milage only deducts 50.00. clean retail is 5k. only a person like myself can see past 150k but not at 4k. sorry could not be of much help.

ok, that was very helpful. thank you so much! i will try dropping it down to $3,500 to start, i see i am a bit high based on what a person sees at first glance... i have also been considering repairing it for sale - the back end damage+painting the passenger side door is about $1400 to repair. i wanted to try to sell first though, before i took more out of my profit. it just is a bummer, its a great car. Any other venues that you might recommend me listing it with? i've attached a few pics.

hey, that is not to bad, you can roll the ding out a bit yourself if you have some body tools, try not to bang it out, roll it out slowly using a rounded tool. also on the estimate, did you tell them you would pay cash to have it fixed, sometimes the body repair person or shop will work with you on c a s h then check. touch up paint can also be used to dress up the scratch marks on the back side. polish out the scratch marks. clean it out, make it smell good, flat black paint the underside, no over spray. clean the engine compartment and gently wd-40. will make most parts look good.

yeah it really isn't that bad, imo at least. nice to have a complete stranger agree. the body shop that i use are long time family friends, they are always really good to us (but i can check with them about the cash option you mentioned). my father restores vehicles but doesn't do any body work himself, which is why we take our vehicles elsewhere - i will give this info to him tho, just in case awesome verse btw. thanks so much for your input!
