Oil leak… but from where?
 

Hey fellas,


I recently changed out my timing belt, water pump, crank and camshaft seals, oil pump seal, and oil pan gasket. Upon completion and after a few minutes of letting the vehicle run, there was a puddle on the ground. The leak appears to happen only while the engine is running, and by the crankshaft hump. See video…. Would it be from one of the seals or is it the oil pan gasket? The oil drips down about a drop of oil every second or two when the engine is running. No leaking when the vehicle is off.

You're going to need to take the cover off.

Inspection possible with covers off?
 

For inspection purposes, can I remove the alternator and power steering pump, and both upper and lower timing covers, to see if either seal from camshaft or crankshaft are leaking while the engine is running momentarily? I’m asking because I am not sure if it’s possible as I have never done it.

This makes me ask....Who did this?

I did the repair mentioned, the changing of seals for crankshaft and camshaft, oil pan gasket, and water pump timing belt. I haven’t tried what I asked, with regards to removing power pump and alternator with covers off, but is it possible that way you can visualize exactly where the leak is coming from, is it DO able?

I would just start taking it apart and see what you can or can't do. Either way you will need to open it up to fix what ever seal(s) are leaking.
