welcome to the forum kevin_405: enjoy your stay. have you checked your air filter and what is the milage on your car? and are your tires pumped up to manufactors spec's or approx 35 lbs. is the conversion of 10k per liter come to approx 15 miles to the us gallon? if so your car isusing up too much fuel.should be closer to 22-26 miles in the city with the air on.

Hi Mech52

thanks for the reply.

10ltr per Km= 23.52 miles/gal..
according to http://www.teaching-english-in-japan...ters_per_liter

Milage on my car is 233000 kms = 145400.85 miles (bought it used so dont know if there have been odo meter rollback)

This is with no ac. Tire pressure may be close to normal, but will have to check..
I will take a look the filter as well..

Seems like this is close to normal.. The difference is probably due to my getting used to manual shift..

BTW shouldn't the normal milage for Civic in city be close to 30-35mpg..

yes milage should be higher with a standard shift. I have an o2 civix 5 sp dx and I get 38-41 milesa/coff, on the interstate doing 65 mph. I coast in nutural on a down grade ( no supposed to in Ca.) and shift out short with out loading down the engine. my short shift would be like being in 5 gear by 40 mph on a level street no rush traffic. and thank you for the conversion I will put it to good use.

you can do a lot yourself, sparkplugs, oil and filter ( mobile 1 5-20w ) pvc for proper function. if the car has over 100k then fuel filter.Add to the fuel a fuel injection cleaning agent ( with techeron). If you need more info, email me. acmech52@yahoo.com you have a good civic, my mom has a 98 auto and served her good, she gave it away to my niece for college and work.
