p0170 code need help

Helloo, alright so I put my OBD scanner on my 97 Civic Ex which is auto, and sometimes when I am driving it's hard at times to accelerate (like driving on the freeway it's really smooth, but the moment I'm on regular streets it fails to give the proper acceleration if that makes sense, hard idles and all). The code ended up being P0170 (fuel trim malfunction bank 1), tried finding videos on YouTube but it doesn't really show the problem for my vehicle so I wanted to take it to the forums. Any suggestions on what to do or what it could be? I appreciate any feedback!

(PS: Before the p0170 code came up, another code showed days before which was p0505 "idle control system". not sure if they're both the "same" in a way or just two different problems when I cleared it, then the fuel trim code popped up afterwards).

What are your trims doing?

I wish I had the answer, but I'm not sure 🤣

You don't have a scan tool?

If this is what you are referring to , the only thing that popped up

That's a code reader. They are not worth much. Need live data.

Alright, appreciate it!

@grcauto Okay so I bought the scan tool, and I see what you were talking about. It shows EVERYTHING. So basically the fuel trim is good (for now), but I see another problem regarding the idle. So I ran a "throttle relearn" test and it basically said something about connecting an "SCS shorting connector to the SCS connector". I didn't know what the connectors meant so I canceled the test, tried looking on the net and it's saying it's under the dash but I have no clue what wire it is. Any ideas??

There's a connector that you have to jump with a wire. It throws it into service mode.
