Question Signal Problem

Hey everyone. I have a 97 Honda Civic and have a signal problem that started recently. The right signal either blinks too fast or too slow - the left is fine and when I put the hazard lights on they blink together. Both front and rear bulbs are not dim or out. I'm guessing it could be a wiring problem but I don't know where to begin. I like to save money by working on my car myself but I'm not near the expert level! Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

welcome to the forum. First check to see that both front and back light bulbs have good ground and contact. ( a bulb may be going bad and not be noticable )

Thanks for the reply. How do I make sure it has a good ground? Take it out and put it back in?

take it out and use scotch bright to scrap it a bit, check the socket for cleaness. Look at the bulb and make sure it is not getting dark in color. check the wires to see if it goes to ground and clean that contact area. You may want to purchase a couple bulbs for troubleshooting purpose, or just replace the bulb with new ones. If this does not help, then there may be a wire problem.

OP do you have any aftermarket electrical mods? it sounds like the problem could be a short to power in the circuit. long story short, take it to the dealer and have them check it out. electrical diy maintenance sucks
