SRS Light
Hi guys,
I have a 1999 Civic LX, and just recently the SRS has been coming on and off randomly. It seems that when I stop, it flickers or just stays off. When I am actually in motion, it seems to stay on. I know it could be an airbag problem, but is it a possibility it could be just a problem with one of the sensors? I'm sure it doesn't matter, but I have just recently been using my spare key which I haven't used in the car since I bought it in '99, but I'm sure that's not the source of the problem. Any Ideas?
Thanks,
Colin

RE: SRS Light
Your srs module will send bias voltage through the wire and expect a return if it does not see that return it will flash the srs indicator light and assume something is wrong. it it possible a wire in the cluster could be wrong or a ground is loose but you would have other problems. If you are not experienced with wiring and circuitry I strongly advise taking it to A DEALER not a mechanic. The airbags havewhat they call shorting bars on the connectors that when unplugged they short out the bags to not have a deployment but very dangerous to a novice. Becarefull
