throttle cable help

hi,, I have a quick question reguarding the throttle cable, when I drive my brothers cars that are older (1994) the gas pedal doesn't seem to be as sensitive as his,, like its almost like stiffer to press as to where his u barely touch it and it.. can anyone explain this and if theres a way to fix it so my gas pedal is more sensitive and my throttle response is better

they have devices to lubricate throttle cables otherwise replacing the cable works best but thats a pain in the ass to do yourself. you can also try getting under the dash and spraying the gas pedal with a de-graeser cleaning it then applying some white lithium grease. you can also try spraying some white lithium grease into the cable itself while you have somebody pump the gas pedal but that's really only a band-aid for the problem.

Also after trying the suggestions lowlife mentioned buy some throttle body cleaner and spray it down good,my wife's Accord sometimes sticks slightly and it helps.buy throttle body spray not carb cleaner.

possibly you have slack in the cable too ...some throttle cables can be adjusted
