what you need from a non vtec to a vtec
i have done this to my 88 prelude from a b21A1 non vtec to a JDM H22A vtec.
if you are just doing the engine only by yourself, then there not alot you need. ceause there both d series motor and same mounting in the engine bay area. what you need is a : -your generation civic d17a2 vtec engine - 2003 civic d17a2 vtec engine wire harness or you could repin your enine harness into a vtec harness. (note: it a pain in the rear to repin your engine harness to a vtec harness, took me 6 month to get my resource and repin my engine harness. best recommend is to get a d17a2 vtec engine harness, save the trouble.) - d17a2 vtec ecu (if run a non vtec ecu, engine run poor) - exhaust manifold - you could reuse your complete exhuast maifold system - intake manifold - use the one on the d17a2 vtec motor (you need the vtec accessory sensor on the intake manifold) - a mechanic person with basic engine swap knowledge next to your side - a couple of hand to help out with the swap - 6 pack of corona beer that pretty much it if your just doing the engine swap only. Good Luck. |
