want to buy... but should I?
I posted this in the "new member" part too. So sorry, I just want help!
I have been looking for a car for a while. Here's what you should know: I am a working student, so I don't have tons of money for a car, I need something that I can drive close to 50 miles a day with. Thus, I have pretty much decided that Honda is the way to go.
I have found a 1988 CRX si, with 250,000 miles on the body and 2000 miles on a rebuilt moter. The price is right, but the car needs new cv joints at the very least. It might need new cv axles. The owner also says the it "burnes a little oil", but he is not sure why. So, my question is should I go for the car or will it simply become a money pit?
Thanks everyone.

As far as the CV joints are concerned that's not a big deal. The engine only have 2000 miles on it and already burning oil....someone didn't break it in correctly or is hosing you. I have a 90 CRX Si original engine 242,000 miles and it burns a little oil but runs great as long you keep up on the oil changes it shouldn't be a problem. From the sounds of things you may want to find someone you trust who knows a little something about cars to check it out with you.
