Okay I have a 2001 Honda EX and I have a strange winding sound coming from my engine people keep saying it may be low power steering fluid but the levels are good.. any I dea on what it may be or should i replace the power steering pump???

 

If it is the p/s pump, full or low will make the same noise. see if the sound changes as you make a left or right turn. If you can get a mechanic's stethescope ( sp ) and listen to the pump.

 

What kind mileage is on it? Does it make any noise when at idle? If its making the noise only when moving it may be a front wheel bearing.

 

It makes the noise when at idle.. It sounds like a bad power steering pump but my power steering is working fine

 

power steering will work just fine even though the pump is noisy. turn ur steering wheel left and right and see if the noise changes. if it does id say try flushing the fluid but sucking old fluid out and replacing with new honda ps fluid. if that doesnt work replace the pump
