Default New HRV not so shiny

I picked up my 2023 HRV today. The salesman I’ve been working with said he had to hand wash it himself that morning because the detailing staff called off the day before. He said they get really dirty on their way from Mexico to the U.S. and then to the dealership and it’s hard to get the dirt off.

I did not make a fuss or complain before I left. Is there something that the detailing staff needs to do to the exterior fresh from a factory? I mean, it doesn’t look bad, but the salesman said he wiped an area again while I was there.

Do I make a fuss? Is there any good reason to make a fuss for a detail, or basically that would be a bad way to start a relationship with the staff?

I'd get the money back they charged for it. Probably 500 or more.

Right? As long as there wasn’t supposed to be a process to clean off chemical residue, I will just wash it thoroughly myself.
