2000 Civic SI cutting out when i try to accelerate and v-tec problem?
2000 honda Civic SI, with a B16-A2.
ok, i'll start off with the v-tec problem. for the past 2 weeks my v-tec has randomly decided to stop working. It sometimes feels like working randomly with no sign when or why. I have tried just about everything, im throwing code 22 which is a v-tech malfunction code. here's a list of things i have done to fix with no luck. -replaced v-tec solinoid -replaced oil pressure sensor for v-tec -change oil and filter (full synthetic) -replaced the Idle Air Control Valve (IACV) -cleaned all screens and replace the entire -replaced the Map Sensor -Cleaned all points in distributor -replaced Plugs -checked and changed all coolant -Had codes swiped off of ecu many times -Removed ECU overnight to swipe codes many time -Unhooked Battery many times to swipe codes -wiggled and moved around all wires and checked all connections that I could see or touch. -tried to clean out the intake with intake and carb cleaner... -tried a fuel additive -check to make sure fuel pump is putting out the correct steady PSI -Changed fuel filter (I'm going very broke very fast) Secondly- recently i developed a problem that it flashed code 6 (temperature sensor) for a while and now I cant get it to come back, but it was there for a while. I start the car up in the morning or anytime the engine is cold, and drive the car, (other than the v-tec issue) It runs great (and usualy the v-tec works when it's cold). but later when the car reaches it's normal running temp it starts to cut out everytime I try to accelerate. It idles great and drives great as long as im not on the gas. I'm overly confused and dont know what the F is going on. please help, because I dont have the slightest clue as to what to do next. thanks for your time and help. |
