2001 Honda Civic coupe non-vtec to vtec engine
 

I have a 2001 Honda Civic LX that I unfortunately threw a rod in. I bought a vtec engine (from an ex Civic) and dropped it in. I am looking at the wiring harness but I seem to be missing some wires. I'm also having a hard time finding this particular part. Is there anything I can do to my old harness to make it work for me now?

Hey there, I did the same thing, in my 02 Civic LX, the motor runs fine with using the LX harness, minus VTEC which sucks. I am looking now for options, either an EX ECU and harness or a VTEC controller to get her running better. Good luck, I'm going to follow this one.

welcome to the forum honda tech advised me that when a non-vtec is changed to vtec, to pull the engine wire harness, and ecu together
