2001 honda civic si starts then stalls
i have a 2001 civic si that stalled out on me when i was driving it. once i got it home i tried starting it and it starts for about a second and then stalls. it isnt giving out any engine codes. tested for spark and thats all good. fuel pressure is 37psi. when i tested the injectors they start normal then start to pulse weak as it stalls. Anyone know what it could be?

welcome to the forum. when was the last time you adjusted your valves. It may sound odd, but on my Fit, I got to 170k and the engine stalled when i started the engine. with all the plugs replaced, intake cleaned, I let the shop adjust the valves. In my case the vaccum was low to allow the engine to run properly. ( just a suggestion )

Your fuel pump may be giving up,or your EGR valve is stuck open. You can unplug the Vacuum line to the EGR valve and drive it. If the problem disappears, you'll know for sure it's the EGR system.

it turned out to be timing belt jumped one tooth. i was told that the cam sensor starts the car and then both cam and crank sensors keep it running. since the timing was off by just the one tooth the two sensors werent aligned and it was shutting the car off.
thanks for the help |
