First, this post is in the wrong place. This part of the forum is for problems with the forum, not vehicle issues. You'll probably get better advice if you post this in the CR-V area, or under General Tech Help.

That said, I haven't worked on a 04 CR-V and I don't have a manual for one because my CR-V is a 98, but the don't lighting system in my car isn't sophisticated enough to care about the radio. Iirc, aftermarket radios don't even connect to the lighting system in most cases.

Your problem might be a bad fuse, or the dimmer switch might have been turned down without you noticing. My CR-V has a fuse just for instrument lights. Since your car is newer, you probably have that fuse too. If it is blown, try unplugging your new radio before changing the fuse. Then, make sure your dash lights work without it, then plug in back in and see if it blows the fuse. If it does, you need to recheck the radio connections.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
