97 Civic Hard Shifting Automatic

Hi all, My 97 honda civic Ex V-tec is shifting hard at the regular shift points, as far as I can tell. No slipping either. Been doing this for about a year with no further deterioration on the the tranny. I've changed the fluid about 3 times over the year. However about 3 months ago the D light started flashing at regular intervals of twice per second. I googled this, and it came up a bad Shift Solenoid. I replaced it with a junk yard part, but didn't work. So thinking it was a bad part, I replaced that with a new Solenoid last weekend. No difference. Tranny is still shifting hard, but normal. 298000 miles and otherwise running great. I'm dumbfounded, next step is a garage, but trying to avoid that. Help
Allen

welcome to the forum. flashing d would indicate the transmission control module is sending an error code. usually it is caused by low fluid, or torque converter issue. if you have access to a diagnostic check or scan tool it would help. also it could be caused by the pressure control solinoid.
