gas mileage issues
I currently drive an older (six years old) honda civic and am getting crap mileage. I live in the city, so I know that with all the stop and go traffic and the rarely getting above 30 miles an hour, it's not going to be great, but does anyone have any suggestions?
I've been thinking about buying a CR-V for ages now, and this mileage problem (11 mpg!) is pushing me towards taht move, but I don't want to make a rash decision. thoughts? |
i drive a 8 year old civic and it gets 31-34 mpg because i do proper maintenance on it do you ???. when was the last tune up performed plugs, oil, air filter, trans oil, fuel filter, oxygen sensors, cleaned the throttle,EGR valve,IACV valve,PCV valve checked tire pressure ??? all of these things plus a million more can lead to poor MPG.

Start with the easiest cheapest things first, fuel filter, air pressure in your tires and clean the throttle body.
