honda clutch prob....97 dx

clutch seems to be slowly dying,,,,
i have to hold the pedal to the floor to shift gears and even then i can feel and hear it catch...
i bled the slave but i got worse it seems
should i replace the slave and cross my fingers or drop the tranny and replace the plates....?
(i had no help bleeding the slave so i opened it, pumped the clutch, put a piece of wood to hold it down, and tightened the bleed-valve back up)

welcome to the forum, I'd bleed the clutch slave with 2 people first, dropping the trans is a big job.

unfortunately yes. when you replace it though just get the whole clutch assembly they usually go for about 140 and napa or advance auto parts.. you could escape with new pressure plate but if the clutch is going out then that means the teeth are wearing down or getting grooved. just go ahead and fork out the extra cash and get it all done right in one shot trust me you will be happy you did it all now and in the long run it will save you time and money
