Wrong tire sizes
Wrong tires
I have driven my 2017 Honda CRV with 2 front tires 225 60 17 one back 215 60 17 and one back 235 60 17. For over a year unknown to me. I have an AWD truck. What damage have I done. If I put tires the right size will it fix problems |
That is a good question.
Wish I had the answer. Everyone keeps telling me that when replacing tires on AWD vehicles, have to replace all four at the same time I never got a good explanation on why. So, I have resorted to replacing either the front set or back set of tires. This is due to monetary restraints. 225 mm across the surface that meets the road (width) Aspect ratio of tire side wall height to the surface that meets the road (sidewall=60%x225=135) [(one tire=60%x215=129)] [(one tire=60%x235=141)] Side wall height difference of 141-129 or 12 mm or less than half an inch Or less than an inch if we take top and bottom of the tire into consideration. And all on a 17 inch rim I don't believe it would do much damage, if any at all. But, I don't know for sure. And putting the correct tires should put things back to right Maybe do more research on tires and AWD???? |
