Honda Dylan 125cc: scraping sound when pressing brake levers
Hi guys,
I have a 2003 Honda Dylan 125cc with currently 11,000kms on the dash (about 8,000 miles). Bought it 2 years ago, never had an issue other than just plain servicing. Since recently though, when I press/hold the brake lever WHILE STANDING STILL with running engine, there is a weird scraping noise from the back tire area. I don't think it is the brake itself. The noise is a fairly loud and high pitched grinding or scraping sound, but I can't really locate it other than being around the back tire. This is also where the belt and gearbox live, so could be one of those things maybe... Soon as I release the brake lever, the noise stops; soon as I press it, the noise is unrelenting until I release it again. I haven't noticed it while driving but with the helmet on it is possible I just can't hear it while driving but it is still there. Anyone of you knowledgeable gents (or femmes) out there that have an inkling as to what this may be? |
