Should I buy a metropolitan

I'm thinking about buying a 2019 or 2020 Honda Metropolitan, but I must say how worried I am about the 49cc engine. 40mph at best, doesn't seem like enough. I weigh 145lbs and though most of the streets on my daily journey are only 35, i worry about passing and the 1 or 2 streets that run faster(45) that I only have to traverse a few blocks at. What about any aftermarket horsepower? Or even before it leaves Honda, can I improve on that 35-40mph just a bit, say a solid 45mph? If only Honda still sold an 80 or 125cc model anymore. The PCX with a less than step-through body style and 150cc is just too much bike for what I need. Any advice or suggestions on the subject would be greatly appreciated. I have had good luck with Honda's of all sorts to include several Spree's and Gyro's which my memory says were just a little too under powered, but I want to stay with the brand. Also, my local dealer has told me the rock bottom price he has for a 2019 Metropolitan with less than 5 miles on it is $3,090 where the MSRP for the 2022 Honda Metropolitan is $2,499. What gives and should I tell him I know this little secret bit of data?
