Default 2006 Honda Civic

I have a 2006 Honda Civic, my second Civic. I had my first Civic for 10 years and did the basic maintenance, no problems whatsoever. I had such confidence and trust that I bought another Civic. I had 37,044 miles (of course no longer under warranty) on my 2006 Civic when it died. It just stopped cold without warning. As it turned out the tensionor and a bolt in the engine broke. Has this happened to anyone else?
I think a broken bolt in the engine should extend beyond warranty. It just doesn't seem right. I have lost confidence in Honda. It is scarey because I thought they had the best reputation for safety. Well if this happened to Honda and they were "The Best" what doI have to look forward to with other makes that I have to now consider.

Wow Im sorry to hear that!! I have an 05 civic with 98,000 miles and I take very good care of my car. I would go back to whoever fixed your car and find out why they didnt check what they were suppose to. Hondas really are one of the most reliable cars out there... I have had 3 hondas and just love them the only problem that Im having right now with my civic is my fault I lowered it an inch and half and put 18s on it and my driver side back tire has alot of negative even with camber plates in the back but thats the only problem I have ever had with that.. So dont give up on hondas yet they really are good cars

nwalker: welcome to the forum. If your car was cared by a honda dealer up to the time the bolt broke, You can get a hold of American Honda in Torrance Ca. and email or call them and ask them if they are willing to work with you to repair the car. Also tell them of the confidance you had with the privious Honda. Many times I have heard they help to cover part of the repair.
