Default 2006 Honda Civic

Hi, i have a 06 civic. When i drive it's making a loud humming noise in the back. I thought it might be the wheel bearing, but it only has 98000 miles. A mechanic told me that should not be the problem, that it happens at 150000.. I have taken both back tires off and everything seems to be tight. Does anyone have any ideas?

welcome to the forum. wheel bearings can go at any time, or milage, not a certain milage. one way to check for hum is to jack up rear and find a way to rotate the back wheel to speed, or take it to a tire balance shop that has the old tire spin up machine. also check your tires for unsual wear, you can swap the tires front to back and see if the sound comes to the front.
