2008 Civic EX coupe

My wife was driving a troublesome BMTroubleyew 740IL, or having it worked on more often than not. Fortunately she saw and liked a EX coupe. Just had to get it loaded.

I've been a bit disappointed with the quality of the 2008 model. Honda's are known for reliability and quality.

The recall covered the paint falling off, and the visors breaking one time. The visors broke again on my dime.
The center console latch also had to be replaced, and the top motor mount.

I compare that to my 2008 Corolla CE, which has zero issues in the same miles and driving conditions. But the Toyota is ugly.

I'll browse the forum a bit. Hoping quality has returned to Honda.

honda quality comes from its drivetrain and mechanical systems the interiors have always been cheap for a reason.1 to keep weight down 2 to keep cost down which is past down to you the consumer. miniscule things like a visor or dash part is nothing compared to over engineered german cars. compare the cost of a visor to the inevitable failure of your bmw's electrical system ill take a bad visor over that any day. also honda part are dirt cheap compared to bmw's. also civics are extremely easy to work on night and day compared to the german. when it comes to honda quality interiors its like this #1 ACURA #2 Accord #3 Civic. id like to see your BMW go 300,000+ miles without mechanical or electrical problems.

The maintenance cost on the 740IL in 90,000 miles was more than a fully loaded Civic EX.

The 740 was put to rest. She did have a 318I that went over 300K with only normal wear maintenance, and paint and interior was still good at 18 years when everything started falling apart. No more BMW's in my life.

its not just bmw its also VW,mini, porsche etc etc my friends wifes VW just had major electrical system repairs and a co workers brand new gti just started blowing tail light bulbs he already went through 3 sets and thats just the beginning of his problems. you would think there higher end cars like porsche 911 would have better reliability but its not the case.
