I'm looking to buy a new car (will probably be an accord coupe) but need to figure out what to do with my old Accord. It's a 96 EX coupe. Love love this car. It has nearly 250,000 miles on it, has been wrecked a few times (and repaired), looks like crap with peeling paint, etc... but it has been THE best car ever. We havent' spent 5k in total in repairs in 19+years I really don't want to part with it but things are starting to need work in near future and it is 19 years old. It's leaking a little oil, the transmission is starting to slip, etc.. it's time to get a new car.

So, what do I do with this one? A junk yard offered me $167 for it. and it still drives great. It's my go to/from work car. so seriously, 167? I won't get anything for it on a trade in either. What other options do I have to get the most out of it?

Yup Acmech52 is absolutely correct selling the car private will surely raise the price a bit.

 

We recently bought a new 2015 Accord sport and wanted to trade a 2000 Accord in perfect condition with 120k miles on it. They offered $2300 ,i laughed and said i will keep it and drive it to work,best decision i've made in a while,great milage and fun to drive.
