Default clutch issues, 96 integra

my 96 integra 5 speed (motor is a b18b1) has some confusing clutch issues. sometimes, with the clutch fully compressed, it will not go into gear. when this is the case, i can partially release the clutch to shift into gear. in gear now, if i fully compress the clutch again, the gear engages. other side effects include gear slippage, and a whine (throwout?) when fully compressed.
this is not always the case though.. other times the clutch behaves normally, and will shift into gear when fully compressed, won't make any whiney noise, and does not slip. any ideas?
i had the clutch replaced, but the problem started back up almost immediately.
thanks in advance,
Dan

welcome to the forum. Have you checked the clutch fluid cylinder to have proper amount of fluid?
