HR-V Question
Hello!
Has anyone heard of needing a NEW battery for their car (HR-V) 3 times already and I've only had the car for 4 years!!!! They're trying to tell me I don't drive enough and I should get a Battery "Tickler". Anyone heard of such a thing happening???
Can anyone suggest what could be happening?
I am SO frustrated with this!

Yes, have heard of this.
The battery is an energy storage device.
When it just sits for a long time (as motorcycle batteries do when stored for the winter), the battery charge will degrade or discharge.
Motorcycle and automotive batteries are chemical or lead acid based.
If they get very low in charge then they will lose their capacity to hold a charge
And then they will need to be replaced
Lead acid batteries need to stay charged to last a longer period of time
Driving the vehicle will help keep the battery charged.
Or putting a "trickle charger" or "battery maintainer" will keep the battery from discharging.

welcome to the forum My wife owns a 16 HR-V lx. we have had the car sit 1 month on the driveway when we use our 06 Fit, and 06 Town and Country. i have left my Fit at the Airport while on travel to places 2 wks to 1 month, town and country sit when we go out with the motorhome months at a time. when we get back from any trip, we run up the vehicles and never changed a battery. we have changed them when 3/5/7 year warranties are up, never a problem with short lived batteries. unless you live in a very very cold climate, this will weaken a battery a bit and difficult to start but not dead. you may have a possible parasite draw on current from a dead bulb, or something that has burnt out but drawing power. ( yes sometimes a dead bulb will draw power ) has happened to me. may need to look real good for anything that can draw power but not working. some shops have a tester that can tell you how much power is being drawn while sitting with power off.

Welcome in,Never have i had this problem. My Vette sits for sometimes up to two months without a problem, and both my Accords sit a month or more. I only use Interstate batteries and am happy with their reliability. Maybe try a battery tender during long pieriods of non use. They are pretty cheap.
