zc or d16a1
 

k so i am new to the whole honda thing so give me a bit of a break
i just bought a 1986 crx si with eaither a zc or a d16a1 and i need to know how to tell which one i have. i am perrty sure it is the d16a1 since that is what it says on the block but i have been told since it has a brown top its a zc

and also i am having issues with the motor where it takes a full two seconds to reach full rpms and dont know why or how to fix it... help

This is from what i understand: if its sohc(single over head cam) its a d16a1, if its dohc(dual over head cam) it MIGHT be a zc.
