2008 Odyssey injectors won't fire
I did an engine swap on my wife's 2008 Odyssey because the timing belt broke and destroyed a great engine. I got a JDM engine and transmission with about 20K on it and installed it very carefully. It runs when starting fluid is sprayed in intake until fluid runs out. Crank sensor, cam sensor, timing belt timing, mass air flow all check out. Has good fuel pressure and holds pressure. But injectors won't inject. There is no injector clicking sound. Checked all grounds. Maybe I am not seeing a loose ground? Should I run an auxiliary ground to sensors to make sure their ground wire is grounded? I used all the wire harnesses and sensors off the original engine. I also replaced all the sensors with known working ones. Any ideas?

Sounds like the wiring harness was not 100% compatible????
Did you check to see if injectors have injector pulse coming from the ECU? Does the engine block have good ground strap? Is the fuel pump running? |
No need to check ignition when it tuns on alternate fuel. You have a fueling issue. Need to do some testing. Fuel pressure to start.

Fuel pump runs good, Fuel rail has pressure. ECU sends signal to injectors. Engine is grounded. How do I check the ECU ground? I used the injectors from the new engine. Did Honda change injector designs around 2009, 2010 2011? The engine I got may be newer than the 2008. If it is would the injectors not be compatible?

If the ECU is triggering the injectors and they are not firing how are you checking the output of the ECU? If it's firing the injectors they only need power. Is there B+ at the rail?

If engine runs with starter fluid until it runs out the fuel issue and If pump runs and fuel rail has good pressure and the ECU is sending out injector pulse (providing ground) then it should run. If you did all testing correctly then it should run. Don't know why it should not. |
