Odyssey 2004: Lost little springy thing from key fob

Hi!

On the pictures is the key to my 2004 Honda Odyssey; some days ago I changed the battery, and there was a little metal thingy that came out, it was just a bit bigger than the hole in the circuit board shown in the picture. I figured it was some sort of spring contact to touch the battery or something. I couldn't find a position where it felt right, so I left it out, and now I lost it :( Obviously, the remote unlock button now doesn't work anymore. Is there any McGuyver style solution I could try to repair it? If someone has a picture of how it looks when correctly assembled, that would be helpful, I tried to find one but couldn't.
(I'm in New Zealand and the car is an import from Japan in case that matters.)

Any help would be very appreciated, there is only one key hole on the whole car and the button is just super convenient!

Stephanie

Get another key fob for your vehicle and then reprogram the car to the new key fob
You will still need the original key because it has the immobilizer chip.
Tape or glue the original key back together so as to not lose that immobilizer chip

Youtube, this procedure is good for almost all Hondas

Hi,

I was told a replacement key would cost >$800 nzd since it would need to get ordered from Honda Japan :/ mine was working fine before that thing fell out, so I’m hoping to get it going again
