Wheres Hondas Electric Car?

Is Honda behind in Electric car technology?

acmech52 01-28-2016 05:31 AM

Honda made an all electric Fit, they also made a hydrogen car. Many car makers made all these cars but not cost efficient.

fastlane 01-28-2016 07:19 AM

I have never seen a hybrid Honda vehicle.

ATLjunkcars 01-28-2016 08:02 AM

I see Hybrids on the road, their just not as popular as other hybrids like Prius. And they look similar to the regular Hondas so you might not notice them.

bucwheat 01-28-2016 06:09 PM

My neighbor has a hybrid,he says the extra cost will never be made up by good mileage.

acmech52 01-29-2016 04:44 AM

fastlane: honda makes lots of hybrids, only all electric is the Fit. cr-z, civic, accord, are hybrids. they also have the natural gas car. and the car that runs on water.

they have there eyes set past battery power and into the real future of cars hydrogen. the fuel cell on there first gen hydro car can on a single tank power a entire block of houses for a week.

ATLjunkcars 03-09-2016 05:39 PM

Ive never heard that b4. Im gonna do some research on that

ATLjunkcars 03-09-2016 06:22 PM

where did you get this information? I'm not seeing anything similar

acmech52 03-10-2016 06:46 AM

the hydrogen car was delivered to the white house and several different places. on the news. go to honda.com official site and you may find all the info needed. they also have news every month on what the company is doing. they also make motor boat engines, build jet planes ( cute ) robots in the rose bowl parade. Honda makes a v-8 engine with 800+hp. lawn mowers, cycles, lots of other things.

Yup, Honda's hydrogen fueled car is looking more toward the future than electric. It's already been out in California since 2010, and is mostly waiting on hydrogen re-fueling stations (it's biggest hold up). They look like a normal car, act like a normal car, but are very green for the enviroment.
Battery cars suck, which is why Honda limited how much they're doing with them. Think about it, 100 miles isn't anything these days, and most battery only systems are limited to about that range (why they suck).

Allow me to break up my response. First the Hybrids, Honda is slowly moving away from hybrids due to the cost of manufacturing along with the rise in the fuel efficiency of their naturally aspirated and turbo vehicles. The more they improve the less sense hybrids make. My 2013 Civic was getting better fuel economy than my friend's 2014 Toyota Prius. (Mr Honda's favorite car is the CR-Z, he always wanted to build a sporty hybrid.. so please don't think that Honda isn't interested in this.)

Electric vehicles, Honda always has one or two at a time. The Accord Electric Hybrid was discontinued because it didn't make sense cost wise. The Fit EV on the other hand makes plenty of sense, however they have only a few areas that the EV can be used in since they need to be plugged in and charging stations aren't part of the norm.

I hope this helps.

Update

Honda will be releasing a 2017 Accord Hybrid. They announced the Demo Date for the 2017 so I'll snag some pictures when they let me :P

acmech52 07-21-2016 01:51 PM

honda just go certified to make their jet.

AshKetchum 11-10-2017 09:33 AM

I'd be super interested in an electric SUV from Honda, like an electric CRV. Everytime I see one of those Tesla SUVs I wish my CRV was electric and had those sweet eagle-wing doors or whatever theyre called

bucwheat 11-11-2017 06:11 PM

I would be interested in that myself.
