Any help would be Great
My 2000 XR650r runs fine for about 5 minutes and then lose
power. If the bike sits for about a minute it will start and have full power that die again.
I cleaned the tank filter and have good fuel supply going to the carb.
The bike has only 1400 miles on it.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

squirtsome starting fluid into the carb, if it crank right up for a second or so, fuel starvation is the problem.
Also if the valve clearance is too tight, it will run fine cold but start losing power after it warms up and the valve start hanging open.

also check the vent in the gas cap, it may be plugged. This is very common and will cause the same symtoms.
