1988 CRX Si stock dual exhaust restoration
[EDIT] All mentions of "dual exhaust" were intended to refer to a dual-tip muffler, not two separate mufflers.
We own a showroom pristine 1988 CRX Si with low miles and no modifications whatsoever, garaged and in the family from day one. Unfortunately a muffler replacement in the 2010s led to the loss of the original factory dual exhaust, which we now seek info on replacing to restore it to its fully unadulterated state - it was the sole exception/change to the car. What are our options? New old stock may be impossible, so something which has a visually identical dual exhaust will work, but the exhaust must be the same length, diameter, and distance apart. Any increase in size won't be acceptable - it has to stay with the stock look. Confirm the original diameter - 1.5"? We'll appreciate any and all info on reproducing the period-accurate look. Attached is a photo of the familiar original appearance. Thanks and with appreciation in advance. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/hondafo...42eb3bfd2b.jpg |
The Walker Exhaust Quiet-Flow 54130 has been recommended. Any experience from anyone here with this model muffler?
