I am about to buy this honda passport, but the dealer said the tranny light just came on and he is having to shift it manually. Is this a mojor problem or is it control module? Any one have thoughts on this?

 

welcome to the forum. Might check in the consumers guide on line re: passports. there have been quite a few write ups on the transmission. I'd pass on this suv for right now and look for another one. Also recalls, and complaints. All on line. Keep in mind that the complaints are a few compared to the 1k's of passprots made. Trans costs are expensive.
