Is Havoline Coolant Concentrate Compatible with 2014 Honda City?
Hello Honda Forum friends,
Is Havoline's (Extende Life) coolant/anti-freeze compatible w/ the 2104 Honda CIty. If yes, what's the ratio of the water and the coolant? Or do I pour it without any water mix (pure)? The Honda City's coolant reservoir still has some coolant in it (about 1/3 of the container). https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/hondafo...8f5cd78727.jpg Thank you in advance, stay safe. God bless, Revelation 21:4 |

What I'd like to know, when you look in the maintenance Schedule (Mine a NEW 2023 Accord Sport Hybrid), why they say replace the coolant at 30,000 and every two years after that, when the Honda Cooland (BLUE STUFF DESIGNED FOR HONDA SAYS):
""Honda Genuine Long life Blue Antifreeze/Coolant is the only coolant designed specifically for Honda vehicles. Its pre-mixed formulation is so advanced, no coolant service is required for up to 10 years or 120,000 miles. Use Honda Genuine Long life Blue Antifreeze/Coolant for optimum long-term engine performance " ?????????????????????????? Sounds like Dealer RipOff to me, LOL |
Honda based their 30k miles at 15k per year. Honda has their formula to sell to the public, once your warranty is up, you can use what ever you want to, but items like the Honda trans fluid, sensors, and a few other items are Honda only. If aftermarket brand used even it it says manufacture name on the Honda item, it normally fails in a short time. I do agree with dealer RipOff also.

10 yrs. 120,000 coolant is 120, 0000 coolant. The car has a 3 yr. 36,000 warranty, whatever comes first, and we did not take the extended warranty, but now that I see how complex the 2023 Accord hybrid is, not even a belt, serpentine belt, every single thing is Electronically driven, I hope to GAWD, like on previous cars, before the warranty runs out, the manufacturer will offer me via snail mail THEIR extended warranty without that RipOff dealer mark up. We had three OLD vehicles, none were over 70K miles (The 97 Monte Carlo), and traded in that one AND my 2000 Miata only 54K miles, so being retired we typically only put no more than 1,500 miles per year, but having this new one, we are nearly already at 1,000 mile the first month, but of course enjoying it, will go down I am certain, I HOPE, since I told our insurer that it would be driven the same as the previous ones, but this one is fun to drive, taking a beach vacation for a few days, and not seeing the fuel gauge drop one hair, LOL, did some on the way back though :-). Anyway, bottom line, we got two FREE maintenance years, but after that, will use our normal shop for anything other than things only a dealer could do. |
good thinking. enjoy your ride.
