welcome to the forum. 12 mpg city does not sound normal should be getting about 18 mpg city without a/c on. some items to check, wheel alignment done, tire pressures at 34-36. depending on ware of tire, good tune up, clean air filter, easy on the gas pedal, level driving. timing is correct.
