3rd gen compression help

Hi guys,
I'm new to the forum and was unable to find anything when I searched but I recently bought a 1989 Honda Prelude SI with a broken timing belt for a 100 bucks. I read online and found that the car is a non interference engine but I took it apart put it back together with a fresh timing belt and nothing. I checked the compression in all 4 cylinders and there's nothing. My father in law has a 88 prelude that snapped its T-belt but he only bent 2 valves. Is it possible all the valves bent. Could I have missed something. I'm just looking for some feed back because next week i'm going to take off the head and send it to the shop if I can't think of anything else. Oh and BTW the guy I bought it from said it stopped running at low speeds and that it was last running in november. When I turn the crank and try and start the car it doesn't sound like a rod knock. Thanks again for any input you might have sorry this is so long.

welcome to the forum. check to make sure your timing marks are correct on the crank to cam, and valves set up correctly. also ck the distributor rotor for security.
