95 Lude idling at 1300 rpm
I recently had my radiator changed and since then, had to fix a leaking coolant hose. After that, my car idles around 1800 rpm when cold and 1300 when completed warm. Sometimes it will get down to as low as 1000 rpm, but never less. I chanaged the FITV about a year ago because of a bouncing idle. I have bled the coolant twice the past few days. Please advise if there is a different way to bleed the coolant. I used the bleeder valve by the thermostat. loosened it, poured water into the radiator until a continuous pour came out. tightened it, turned car on and kept adding water to the radiator through 2 fan cycles. closed radiator. Please let me know if you have any other info. about this. Thank you so much.

RE: 95 Lude idling at 1300 rpm
I read other forums about idle issues after bleeding my car for the 14th time. I unplugged the TPS sensor, no change. I unplugged the idle air control valve, and when I start the car, as soon as it catches (starts) the idle starts out around 1300 and doesn't change. When everything is plugged in and bled, I start it and it idles at 2k for about 10 seconds, and drops 100 rpm every few seconds until settling at ~1300rpm. I will check for vacuum leaks as soon as I get some carb cleaner. Any other suggestions? Thank you!

FITV stands for fast idle thermal valve. i had to take my off because of a bouncing idle but did not have to replace it. most likely the plastic screw came lose in it and you just have to tighten it. it fixed my problem.
