Default buy a motor

We bought my son a 1993 Honda Prelude Si automatic at age 16. Two years plus later, I have it sitting in my front yard newly painted, rims, stereo but, the engine blown. Where do you guys suggest I go to to get another engine. I want to make sure he gets to and from college but, because I am not sure if racing etc is out of his system, I do not want to spend to much money on it. Please send me some of your suggestions as to where I can purchase a motor for under $1,000. Thanks.

Default RE: buy a motor

check in ebay, in there will also be salvage yards with engines for sale and the cost to ship. most will give a warranty, so be ready to change as soon as the engine arrives. There may also be salvage yards in your area. Some times it may be cheaper to purchase a wreak (rearend) and take the engine out, lots of spare parts. good luck
