Default Honda CB200 1975

Hello, I have recently bought a small twin, a CB200. The previous owner didn't have the log book, so, I need to apply for one. The only issue is I can't seem to find a 17 digit VIN? I do have a number stamped which is CB200E then followed by 7 digits. Any advice on how I find out a 17 digit VIN? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply, where is the 12 digit number normally on this model? The 17 digit I referred to is probably because the dvla seem to have those available on the form, but if Honda only use 12, the one that I quoted earlier is most likely the correct one? Does it seem correct to you? Thanks again for the help

i owe you an apology, there are 17 digits on a honda vin. 2 places to locate the vin. turn your steering handle to the left, on the steering head where the front fork is. also on a tag on the left side of the frame above the motor. again my apology for the error.

No worries at all, is the left and right you refer to as would be sitting on the bike or looking at it. Thanks

I have found the chassis number on the frame near the forks on the right hand side as you look at the bike; very difficult to read but got there in the end. It is the model number CB200 then 7 numbers. I have sent that off on the V62 to the DVLA, fingers crossed.
