Aftermarket wheel side affects???

Looking for a "stock comfortable" ride in a new set of aftermarket wheels. Honda Accord stock alloys are at an offset of +55mm while after market wheels start at a +45mm offset. Are there any additional steering or ride side affects at -10mm offset difference from stock wheels?

Welcome, there is always noticeable differences, try and stay near stock sizes.

I am trying to stay close to the stock offset but most wheels I'm finding start -10mm shallower. I know the "cooler look" is a mount further out but the comfort level seems to be indirectly proportional. And, with tires under a 50 series, you're talking even a rougher ride. Does anyone know of a website where I can find +55mm offset 17" or 18" aftermarket wheels to fit a Honda?

if your worried about ride quality then don't get 18s im sure tirerack has a wheel calculator. Online Wheel and Tyre Fitment Calculator. Offset, Tyre Stretch and Speedo Error | Will They Fit also most after market wheels don't account for hub size your going to need hub centric ring adapters.

I test drove 2 new 4 Cyl. Accord Coupes on the same afternoon, one fitted with stock alloy 17's and the other fitted with stock alloy 18's, over country roads, city streets, and freeways for about a half hour in each car and I could not tell the difference... (I just don't care for the Honda wheels) Is this due to their stock +55 offset on both? Thanks for responding...

the trend for new cars is larger wheels smaller tires the bottom line is low profile tires will never feel as good as a meaty tire. low pros cant absorb impacts due to reinforced sidewalls im sure honda compensates this by making the suspension softer which drastically reduces handling. i you were to install after market suspension upgrades your ride would become almost unbearable. a -10 offset won't effect ride quality but could possibly cause clearance issues with brakes or while turning hard.
