I have a 2007 Ridgeline. It has the steel rims on it . I have a set of Honda alloy rims to put on it. I have been told the lug nuts are different. Can someone please tell me what the difference is

Not 100% on your wheels, but steel wheels have cone, or dome shaped indentations for the lug nuts to press into, and some alloy wheels (newer Toyotas, in particular) have a straight sided hole with a flat area around it for the nut to press on. Those lug nuts are mutually incompatible.

Honda might not do that. My CR-V alloy wheels use the same lug nuts as steel wheels, but I drive a 1998. Things have changed a bit.

Have a look at your wheel lug holes. If there is a cone or dome shaped indentation around the hole, you can use the regular nuts. It it is just flat around the hole, you'll need mag-wheel nuts.
