Default 06 CRV cranks, no dtart

I’m a lot less familiar with this CRV but have general knowledge of other cars

its a 2006 built 09 05
it says I- Vtrch on the cover over the injectors

I tried quick dtart and it fires somewhat it didn’t run very long or even really start but it does fire when cranking with QuickStart

ifvi turn tge key I can hear tge relay behind the glovebox click and I can hear the fuel pump run about 1 second

I think the fuel pump is within the tank And not a pre pump and main pump like other cars I have

I think I should try cranking it with a timing light with the button taped down to see if it flashes Or couod use a spark plug with a helper holding it Or I can put a test lamp across the coil , I’m not sure where the coil is but haven’t had tge cover off near the injectors

I have a fuel pressure guage but I was not sure what yo expect and I think it likely has a fuel pressure regulator I see 3 rubber hoses with hose clamps , Howard where would I connect my fuel pressure gage ? I’d like to verify fuel flow, maybe the fuel filter is clogged ? Where is it located ?

I checked the fuses in the two plastic boxes under the hood ,all ok

I was suspecting a bad relay but I think I hear the pump run

i suppose I couod order and swap some of the relays

the CRV ran fine and then next it won’t start it cranks ok Nothing was altered so I’m suspecting an electrical issue

Battery seems strong enough

I’m looking for some direction on troubleshooting further

it seems logical to check the spark and verify fuel pressure

most if what I’m asking is probably fairly basic , I thought I’d ask for direction to systematically troubleshoot this Rather than making guesses

if it has a spark maybe it’s a fuel issue , maybe it’s firing with QuickStart but gas a weak spark or something Could compression alone cause it to fire ?

any help is appreciated
thank you

You do a lot of 'I think' and not this is the test result. We depend on tests and numbers. You need to test the fuel pump.

thanks for the link , the manual is helpful
I have a fuel pressure guage , and some fairly standard fittings, so I just need to connect it but the manual says i need

07406-004000B fuel pressure guage
07AAJ-S6MA150

also it says there is a part thet cant' be reused, is that part important? i guess its something like a plastic security clip over the connector, or similar.

can I simply cut the rubber line and install a T? , maybe replace one line and cut the old one in half to install my T fitting for the test?

these proprietary honda fuel guage connector parts are expensive. over $200

I pulled out he injectors and verified there is no fuel out of them when cranking.

what would cause this? I do not think its a plugged filter because the problem ocurred suddenly and it ran fine prior to that. I can hear the relay behind the glovebox click and the pump run during key on and cranking. it does not fire at all and I think if it were a fuel filter it pwould likely not die so sudddnly and completely. so I suspect it has no pulse to the injectors.

I could try to pulse an injector while cranking, that could prove it has fuel pressure if it squirts.

i tried to order some spare parts to shotgun a few items but unfortunately I had a porch theft I did get the cam sensor bt other stuff went missing.

i wanted to check spark , we did change the plugs , I guess I could check spark with an old plug against the block I did not seem to get a pules from a timing light so I suspect I also have no spark.

I tried quick start to see if it's a fuel issue and It would fire sort of , but I think it is just firing from compression, it isnt; starting as it should id fuel was the only issue.

Im leaning towards the cause being no pulse to the injectors. but what would cause that so suddenly? I did try a stethoscope and I do not think I can hear them clicking at all.

is there an electrical system that shuts down the injectors and or the spark , if it is crahed or some sort of imobilizer involved?

can I purchase a noid light so I can see a flash if they are pulsing? it would need to go between the cable and injectors Im not sure where to get one.
is threre a relay that switchis on and off and may be preventing pulse to the injectors? or a common issue I shoudl chase?

the troubleshooting tre didnt thelp much as the first check was for fuel pressure requiring a special 200 dollar honda fuel linne adapter. If I pulse the injectots with a 9V battery while cranking , and fuel squirts then I may have proven it has no pulse to the injectors as I suspect. obviously if they squirt there is fuel pressure.
we changed the batter in the key fob, no change.
I could connect an analog meter to the fuel injector wires to prove or disprove that it has no pulse as I siuspect.

I have a friend that has similar issues with an accord and it was suspected that his honda "immobilizer" failed, can I bypass it somehow if such an item exists?
