Default 09 crv awd, rear end growl whine

Hi,, so changed fluid in diff with correct fluid, no real change in whine, increases with speed, thinking bearing or cv joint, but more a bearing whine or so I think, should I try changing oil in diff again or?

welcome to the forum being an 09 does it have high milage, did you purchase this vehicle new. it is a good possible that the rear end gears are worn. when you first changed the oil did you notice and metal flake or sparking in the oil, did the drain plug have any metal. also if you have a person who rocks the gas pedal a lot, this can also cause ware on the differential. you also may be right that the bearing may be worn.

thanks for your reply, the oil from the diff was discolored a bit perhaps more than that compared to new, I observed no metal in the oil and was looking for it, no metal on drain plug which is supposed to be magnetic and there was nothing on it at all so not sure it is. It did not seem to attract metal on test. I still have the removed oil and will look at it again, also took the care out of gear whine in rear continued. Hoping axle bearing
