Default 2006 CRV check engine light

So I bought a used 2006 CRV with 234k miles and it drove fine the first week after purchase. Yesterday I was driving it and it stuttered a number of times when I came to a stop. It happened 3-4 times actually turned off once but it fired back up when I started it again at the stop light.

Then I noticed the check engine light I drove the car for another 2 hours without any issues even including interstate highway driving at 70-80mph.

The code that I got when I scanned it was P0171 of course when I looked up the code I got a few different things to check but the main one was the MAF sensor but after later digging around found that the 2006 doesn't have a MAF sensor but it does have a MAP sensor.

So I'm just looking for some help to see what to look for or replace in order to fix the issue.

I'd be looking for a vacuum leak on the exhaust side.

Did you check for the leak. You are sucking air.

So I looked all over and didn't find the leak i have seen people do a smoke test so I might try that. Just trying to figure out the easiest way to do it since I don't have any equipment.

You don't find vacuum leaks by just looking, you need to use something like propane or ether.

When doing it on the exhaust side you need to monitor the fuel trims as you do it. If the trims start taking away fuel you know your alternate fuel supply is getting in there. Old school is to block off the tail pipe and leaks are easier to find.

ok I'm pretty handy and understand some of the basic but not a gear head by any means. I'm going to tackle a radio replacement and backup camera installation this weekend. I appreciate all the information and pointers once I get it figured put i will let you know.
