2010 CRV Burning Oil.....but Honda says that's normal

What about older CR-V models
Hello to all, We are thinking of purchasing a 2006 CR-V from original owner. It has a little over 60K. I've been checking various cars at carcomplaints.com and have noticed that both Toyota and Honda owners have been complaining about the excessive oil. Most of the CR-V after 2006 seem to have the most problems.
About 2 years ago we bought a very nice low mileage Camry from the original owner. One day I just thought I would check the dip stick and was shocked to see that it was almost dry and took 2 quarts to bring the level back. We sold that car within a year. Toyota is also claiming that 1 quart per 1,000 miles is acceptable. That's what we used to say about used cars in the 1960s.
We still own a 1996 Camry wagon which does not burn a drop of oil. I think the auto companies should come clean and explain why this is happening. They know how to correct the issue, but want us to pay for the fix.

No bad apple
He didn't just get a bad apple and no one is bad mouthing!! I have a 2010 Honda CRV that uses oil like I can't believe. I guess I was stupid enough to purchase this one after my 2008 CRV caught fire in my garage and destroyed the garage and ruined half of my home 6/28/2021. I purchased the 2010 in July of 2021 after the fire, used cars were scarce and this was a nice car from a dealer. I think about late Aug I realized I there was no oil on the dip stick so now checking it regularly and adding oil. Fire Marshall said fire started under the 2008 CRV on drivers side. I had it just little over a year. I only drove it around the block that day and put it in the garage with the garage door halfway up because it was 95 outside. The fired started about 9:30 that night. It's been a mess of a year but finally back in my home since May. I have read that this generation of cars had fires, but Honda keeps quiet about all of that!! Looking for a different car.
