Default 2017 CRV part 4-6 mos if lucky\ update

Good afternoon;

First post on this forum. We buy Honda products for reliability.

A part called “Body Control Module”, part number 1 38809-TMM-A21, failed. Everything electrical you can think of depends on this part. Cost of part $390, pre-paid to order and @$300 to install\program this part. Was told by Dealer I would be lucky to get this part in 4-6 months. I now have a 2017 Honda CRV, with 55K miles dead as a hammer sitting in my carport. If part is so vital, the Dealer or Honda would have this part available if one should fail. Have not heard a word from the Dealer or Honda on the status of this part. Was told this part is not available where in the USA.

Any suggestions where I may find this part or just wait it out till the arrival of this part and also warn people about Honda lack of critical parts for repair.

Thx for input.

UPDATE: Dealer in BR received notice of part delivery @6\8. will allow the dealer to do the repair, both for warranty reasons and a nagging feeling, is this part the actual problem. parts break but spending $700+ for parts and labor and the problem is something else then will have a discussion with the dealer.

also received a call about a certain dealer that has 3 Honda CRVs @ same age as mine with same issue. he was the one that sent an e-mail about part delivery, confirmed e-mail with dealer. they had same e-mail.

Just because the dealer condemns it does not mean it's bad. They do not do as much testing as most competent independent shops.
What is the problem you are having?

Looked on line and most say part is back ordered.
Then one said it does not fit and gave this part

Came from this page

Another site says this
https://www.hondapartsflorida.com/oe...9tmma21?c=az0x

You could try those or you could look into used parts from junk yards/ salvage yards??

Good luck

have the car at home. was told if car's engine stop it would not restart. also told to disconnect negative battery terminal because the module would drain the battery. everything they told me proven connect. tried several times to start car but it will not restart. there are modules out there but they are not compatible based on vin number. thx for taking time to reply. let me say the service writer did all one should expect, it did bother me when he told his boss about issue, boss laughed.
