Default 2018 CRV Head Gasket Blown @96000???

I had a recall on my 2018 CRV-bad fuel pump- scheduled repair by before the appointment experienced loss of power after start- would ..not go over 20mph. Had it towed to Dealer.Next day dealer test drove it- no issues. Dealer re cplacecd recalled fuel pump said “it’s done, come and get it. No charge!” Drove vehicle that day highway driving190miles heavy traffic. No issues.Drove smooth. After a week or so, same thing occurred. No power after start up. Brought back to dealer. Said “Head gasket… $4300”

no smoke,, no loss of coolant, no rough idling, no loss of oil, oil is.clean?
IF it is head gasket should I repair it and keep it?

I’m waiting to hear about DTC’s and MIL’s. Hearing nothing and given your stated condition all I hear is “stick em up”. A blown head gasket is condition that has indications other than what you listed.

With engine running and you remove the oil filler cap, is there a lot of air blowing out?

As far as your poll, things like past maintenance and driving conditions matter in making that call. Besides, you left out options for things like fire sales and submarine efforts. 🤣

Serious suggestion: Find a reputable indie shop that does Honda work and have it diagnosed. Just say what you said here: Experiencing loss of power.

Edit: BTW, you have two fuel pumps. The recall was for the low pressure pump in the tank. The other pump is a high pressure pump connected to the fuel rail. Lots of stories about the low pump sending debris to the high pump and taking it out as well. A faulty HP pump can cause a loss of power. Just a thought.

Did you take it back a second time? How did they determine the head gasket. Need codes. You went into limp mode.

Angry I'm having this exact issue to a T

Additionally all my dash lights are coming on, car shakes when I start it and seems like it wants to stall, and it has the sound of fluid running through it. My local Honda dealership quoted me $6500 for head gasket replacement after they replaced my fuel pump.
