brake discs
I have a 2006 CR-V and after 17000 miles the brake discs are warped . Surely they should have lasted longer than this. Honda uk just don't want to know. Am I expecting too much? Anybody else have similar problems with their CR-V?
Aloha and Wecome to the forum,, enjoy your stay. ( Not acrv ) I have an 2002 civic, and the brakes were starting to warp at 7k, at 30k I almost could not hold the steering wheel, so got it cut smooth, and new linings, at 44k the warp started and at 75k I changed over to Brenbow (with holes and slots )performance disk with Thermal Quiet Pads. at 100kthe warp started and at 140k I had the diskscut. Yes the stock disks do not last too long, performance disk cost me 75.00 Thermal quiet cost 49.00 the stock parts cost a lot more.
Hi,
Yes I had the same brake problem with my 2005 CRV diesel after 12.000 miles and now @ 25,000 its worse. I also cannot hold the steering wheel and the whole vehicle vibrates badly.
Yes Honda UK or the dealers treat you with contempt; they even manage to make some of the lesser makes look good.
It’s going in for the 25,500 service so I will be asking them to have a look at the brakes so wish my luck.
If this is dealer shipstandards at the top of the JD Power reports I doesn’t look good for those at the bottom, I've already experienced a few of those German cars.

Aloha superg: I don't beleive the dealer will do anything to fix the brake and disk except to change it out. The first time around if the pad has not been worn down to metal to metal, they will grind or true the disk and put on new pads. Just a suggestion, might look into changing the disk to brenbow and pads to your choice for the next time it starts to warp.
